Dog Owners:
Bringing your pup home to an apartment can often seem like a challenge, but with the right training and routine, our apartments in Wesley Chapel are sure to be the perfect place to call home. Training your dog is an important step in adjusting to a new apartment and by getting them used to their new surroundings as quickly as possible, it will make the transition easier on both of you. It doesn’t have to be anything over the top, but simple commands like sit, stay, and lay down can make all the difference. It is also important to keep your dog on a fairly strict routine. Apartments don’t typically have the convenience of having a private yard so their bathroom breaks will need to be on a regular schedule to ensure that they don’t have accidents and that they are getting plenty of outdoor time and exercise. Our scenic community offers the perfect place to take your pup for a stroll and get in plenty of exercise. Following these simple tips are sure to make the adjustment to our community a smooth one.
Cat Owners:
Cats are seemingly low maintenance animals and can often be easier to care for than a dog, especially when it comes to making the transition to an apartment. With that being said, there are still steps you can take in order for your cat to get used to their new living space. Cats are climbers and explorers, so you may want to invest in a cat tree or something that they can climb and scratch on so that they don’t damage your furniture or any other belongings. Each of our homes also feature a screened in patio that is ideal for letting your cat still enjoy the fresh air without having to worry about them running off or getting lost. The patio is also the perfect place to keep a litter box. While your cat may have an easier time transitioning to apartment living, you’ll still want to follow these tips and keep an eye on them for the first few weeks.
For both pets, quality time is always an important factor in moving to a new apartment. Take a few minutes out of your day to play and spend time with your pet. Dogs thrive off of attention and even a few minutes will let them know that you are staying in this new place with them. Cats aren’t always the most social animals so even cuddling up with them on the couch is a good way to spend time with them. Our community does have a non-refundable pet fee and certain restrictions do apply. You can view our full pet policy here.
